With the Lamestream Media telling us the world is going to hell in a handbasket every day, what makes you happy? What are you grateful for?
Let's not give in to the gloom and doom trying to make us feel helpless. Remember why you're here, what makes you smile and what really matters
Sometimes, it all gets a bit overwhelming and hopeless. Like a nightmare I had repeatedly in my youth; something was chasing me but the ground had turned into quicksand and just pulling my legs out took so much effort! I just wanted to stop and sink and let whatever was behind me catch up. Did you ever have a similar dream? Do you feel a bit like that now?
But the fact is that we live in an amazing world with so much to be grateful for - so much love to share! We just need to remember it from time to time to keep ourselves on track.
So this morning, I want to make a list of some of the things I love most and am the most grateful for - there is so much!:
- First and foremost, my 4 incredible children. They are funny, sweet, big-hearted and so, so smart! When I am with them, I feel so glad that I was born so that I could (with my husband of course) bring such light and love into the world!
- My husband - who I drive absolutely apeshit bonkers crazy but who still sticks with me through thick and thin. A more honest, kind or caring person would be impossible to find.
- My sister in this world and the one waiting for me beyond. We share our childhood and our crazy, dysfunctional but incredibly loving parents. Somehow we survived growing up, thrived into adulthood, and would not have given up one minute of it all.
- My friends. Though working on this issue saw me lose many friends, I have made many more whose loyalty, love and laughter I cherish though I don’t tell them this nearly enough. Need to do something about that sooner rather than later!
- Our family of freedom-fighters. Though we may fight amongst ourselves from time to time, as families often do, when the going gets tough, we are always there for each other, to provide a shoulder to cry on and to guard and protect against any and all comers. We are never alone.
- My view. I am so blessed to have lived for the past 26 years with an incredible view of our farm and the ocean in the distance. Ever-changing, ever-commanding, ever-stunning. It makes getting out of bed worthwhile - even when I haven’t had enough sleep the night before.
- My house. Though it’s in need of some urgent TLC and I am the least organised person you’d ever want to meet, my house provides security, comfort and a cook’s kitchen where you will find me several times a day whipping up something (hopefully) delicious and (most often) nutritious and is my favourite part of the place.
I could go on and on, but 7 is a good number.
How about you? What are you grateful for? Do you try to remember it often or do you get caught in the quicksand of life and simply forget that there is much to be happy about - even in today’s world? What are the small or big things that make you smile? Can you share a few in the comments below to make the day a bit brighter for all of us?
Have a very blessed day and thank you for reading this.
