GACK! Where did the time get to? Invitation to TOMORROW'S Subscriber Zoom Meeting: Long Time Food Storage and Forever Foods

I can’t believe it’s that time already! Somehow, the last 2 weeks have FLOWN and I nearly forgot to send you the invitation. I hope that won’t affect how many of you can attend because the topic is one you have expressed a great deal of interest in.

I will be recording the conversation and that’s what this will be. I don’t want to be presenting a lecture on this subject. It’s a topic I’ve been studying since 1999 when I started prepping for the possibility of Y2K (yes, I was one of THOSE people!).

But I’m learning all the time and I’m sure there are many of you who will know more than I do so let’s help each other out with what works for us.

Here is a list of the subjects we will be covering:

Long-term food storage. How to preserve your precious food items for the longest possible time for future lean times and against even more increases in the cost of basic foodstuffs.

  1. Home canning/preserving
  2. Mylar bags and oxygen absorbers/dessicants
  3. Bottles and buckets
  4. Vacuum sealing
  5. Dehydration
  6. The enemies of long-term stored food and how to avoid them.

Forever foods vs short-term food storage.

  1. What are some foods you can keep forever - or as close to it as possible.
  2. Where can I source such foods in bulk and is it worth forming a food coop in my area?
  3. Costs of home preservation. Is there any way to do it on the cheap?

Everyone who attends will receive a free worksheet and resource list to help them get started with food storage.

Future Zoom calls on these topics will include emergency preparedness, community-building, home gardening (definitely not my forte but as I’ve said before, I’m married to the best farmer in the world :-) and self-sufficiency in a dependent world.

Of course, we will still have many Zoom calls on vaccination issues - never fear!
